One of the oddest circumstances when it comes to a group of people historically known for poor eating habits, but low coronary heart disease rates, are the French. According to data collected by the British Heart Foundation, 1999 death rates for U.S. males 35-74 suffering from heart disease were 115 per 100,000.

This makes red wine a preferred choice when it comes to choosing a health-inducing beverage since white wine uses no skin in fermentation.
Fermentation Time Has Influence
Fermentation time has great impact upon Resveratrol anti aging effects in red wine. The greater amount of time grape skins spend in the wine fermentation process, more resveratrol is absorbed. Additionally, wines made from muscadine grapes offer more Resveratrol. Although white wines offer some resveratrol, the amount is far less than red wine since white grape skins are removed before the fermentation process begins.

Research late in the 20th century points to the fact that studies reveal the red wine consumption level in France may reduce the risk of cardio health disease by 40 percent.
